I'm trying to play Retro Rewind on my Nintendo Wii for the first time in years, but the installed version is so old that the automatic update no longer works. I removed the SD card, which still works, and then realized that most newer computers don't seem to have a full-size SD card slot anymore. What's the easiest way to read, load, or update files on an older SD card so I can get Retro Rewind—and possibly CTGP—working again?

You can read the card with a USB SD-card reader. If you only have a microSD card, put it into a full-size SD adapter; the Wii can usually use it the same way. Just avoid SDXC cards, since the Wii has compatibility limits. Standard SD cards up to 2 GB work, and SDHC cards up to 32 GB are supported when the Wii is running system software 4.0 or newer.

Small correction: these are SD memory cards, not SD-RAM. SD-RAM is a completely different type of computer memory. For your Wii, use a regular SD or SDHC card, or a microSD card in a proper SD adapter. SDXC cards generally won’t work.
The Wii does support SDHC cards on system software 4.0 and later, so a 32 GB SDHC card should be fine once the system is updated.
