RAM and SSD prices are already much higher than expected, and I'm trying to decide whether to build now or wait for Black Friday. Some people say prices may continue rising, while others expect holiday sales to make components cheaper. I'm in the United States and would ideally like to save around $100 on the total build. Is Black Friday usually a good time to buy PC parts, or is it safer to purchase the components I need now?

Prices could rise significantly before Black Friday, and even a discounted price might end up higher than today’s price. Nobody can predict that reliably, so decide based on how urgently you need the computer. If you can wait, set a target price and purchase when a good deal appears instead of assuming the calendar date will guarantee savings.
There probably won’t be a universal answer. Black Friday often includes real discounts, but it also has misleading deals where prices are raised beforehand and then marked down for the event. Track the current prices of the exact parts you want and compare their history so you’ll know whether a sale is genuinely worthwhile.
PC components don’t always receive huge Black Friday discounts, especially if supply problems or broader market conditions push prices upward. A sale might save some money, but it may not offset a major increase before the event. Buy now if you need the system soon, and wait only if you’re comfortable with the risk.
