I'm putting together a new gaming PC with a Ryzen 7 9800X3D and a Radeon RX 9070 XT. The rest of the parts are 32GB of Patriot Viper Elite 5 Ultra DDR5-6000, a Gigabyte X870 AORUS ELITE WIFI7 motherboard, a MONTECH Century II 1050W power supply, an ID-COOLING FX360 PRO 360mm AIO, and a DIYPC DIY-ATX08-Wood Black mid-tower case. I'm intentionally skipping RGB for a cleaner look and lower cost.
The memory kit is not specifically listed on Gigabyte's QVL, although the motherboard supports DDR5-6000 and I'm hoping it will run without issues. I'll be using the system with a 32-inch 1440p 180Hz monitor. The whole build should cost under $2,000 thanks to bundle deals and discounts.
Are there any compatibility concerns, unnecessary parts, or changes I should consider before everything arrives? In particular, is the X870 motherboard worthwhile here, and should I be concerned about the RAM not appearing on the QVL?

The memory should probably be fine. A motherboard’s QVL is not an exhaustive compatibility list; it only identifies kits the manufacturer tested. Since the board supports DDR5-6000, a 32GB kit at that speed is a sensible choice. If the system has trouble booting with the memory profile enabled, update the BIOS and try enabling the profile again, or run the RAM at a slightly lower speed.
That’s a strong and well-balanced gaming system, especially for 1440p high-refresh gaming. The main question is whether you actually need the features of an X870 board. A good B850 motherboard with Wi-Fi could provide everything you need while reducing the total cost. You could also compare the AIO’s price with a Thermalright cooler, since there are often cheaper alternatives with similar performance.
You may want to look at a B850 Gaming WiFi motherboard instead of X870. Unless you specifically need the extra connectivity, expansion, or USB features, the less expensive board should handle the 9800X3D and RX 9070 XT without a problem. For the power supply, 1050W is more than enough, so just make sure the unit has the proper modern GPU power connector and that the case has adequate airflow for the 360mm radiator.
I probably should have compared prices with a parts-pricing tool before ordering. I chose non-RGB mainly because it was cheaper, and I went with the AIO because I liked the clean brushed-metal appearance. The price difference was small enough that I thought it was worth it.
