My Acer Nitro v15 laptop, with 1 TB of storage and an RTX 4090, has been randomly entering sleep mode while I'm gaming, watching YouTube, or drawing. It doesn't show a blue screen or perform a full shutdown—it simply goes to sleep, and it takes about a minute to wake up again. This has happened since I bought it less than a year ago. Try a clean Windows installation or the manufacturer’s recovery image to rule out a software or driver issue. Back up your files first, and reinstall the chipset, graphics, and power-management drivers afterward. If it still happens on a clean system, the laptop is likely defective and should be returned or sent in under warranty.
There’s probably a specific trigger even if Windows isn’t showing an obvious error. Check the Event Viewer around the exact time it happens, especially the System log, for power-related events or unexpected sleep entries. Also make sure the power button, lid-close action, and sleep settings aren’t being triggered accidentally.
Since this has happened from the beginning and occurs under different kinds of use, I wouldn’t spend too long uninstalling random programs. If Event Viewer and a clean installation don’t reveal anything, contact the seller or manufacturer for an RMA while it’s still covered.
