Should I choose an RTX 5060 Ti, RTX 5070, or something else for Blender, Unity, and gaming?

I'm considering upgrading from an RTX 2070 Super and am looking at newer graphics cards. Some friends recommended the RTX 5060 Ti 16GB because I use Blender and Unity, while others suggested the RTX 5070 for its stronger overall gaming and rendering performance. I also play AAA games and currently use a 1080p 165Hz monitor.

My current system is:
- Intel Core i9-9900KF at 3.60 GHz
- RTX 2070 Super with 8GB VRAM
- 32GB DDR4 RAM
- Gigabyte Z390 UD motherboard
- CoolBox DeepPower BR-800 power supply
- CoolBox Deep Gaming AIO cooler
- HP OMEN 27-inch 1080p 165Hz FreeSync monitor

I'm not very familiar with the current GPU market and would appreciate advice on which card makes the most sense for my workload, gaming performance, VRAM needs, and existing system.

If gaming is the main priority, the RX 9070 XT is also worth comparing. It offers a large performance jump over the RTX 2070 Super and usually provides strong value, especially for 1080p or 1440p gaming. However, NVIDIA is still the less complicated option if Blender and Unity are important parts of your work, so I’d only choose the AMD card if gaming value matters more than software compatibility.

That’s what I’m worried about. I’ve heard NVIDIA drivers and rendering support tend to be easier for Blender and Unity, even if the AMD card looks better for gaming.

Before buying, check the power supply carefully. The 800W rating may be enough on paper, but the quality and available PCIe power connectors matter more than the number on the label. Also, at 1080p, your i9-9900KF could limit performance in some high-refresh games, so you may not see the full benefit of a very powerful GPU. The RTX 5070 is probably the most balanced choice here; the 5060 Ti makes more sense if keeping costs down and having 16GB of VRAM is your priority.

For Blender and Unity, I’d lean toward the RTX 5070 because NVIDIA’s CUDA and OptiX support is generally the safer choice for compatibility and render performance. The 5060 Ti 16GB gives you more VRAM for the money, but the 5070 has considerably more raw performance. Just keep in mind that 12GB may become limiting in heavier Blender scenes, so a 5070 Ti or another 16GB NVIDIA model would be worth considering if the price fits your budget.
