I currently use an RTX 5060 Ti and mostly play Counter-Strike 2, Where Winds Meet, Cyberpunk 2077, and Valorant. I'm gaming at 1080p now and would like to move to 1440p, but I'm worried the card may start struggling. My system has a 14th-generation CPU, 32 GB of RAM, and a 1 TB SSD. Should I upgrade the graphics card, or will the 5060 Ti handle 1440p well? If an upgrade makes sense, what GPU would be a good next step?

The 8 GB and 16 GB versions are worth treating differently. The 16 GB card should be fine for 1440p, while the 8 GB model may require lower textures or more compromises in newer games. I wouldn’t replace it until you have a 1440p monitor and can see whether performance is actually a problem.
If you really want a substantial upgrade, look at cards around the Radeon 9070, 9070 XT, or comparable GeForce 5070 Ti level. Anything only slightly faster than the 5060 Ti probably won’t be worth the money. Still, I’d test the current card at 1440p first, especially if it has 16 GB of VRAM.
Buy the 1440p monitor first, then check GPU usage and frame rates. Competitive games like CS2 and Valorant can be more CPU-limited at 1080p, so increasing resolution may shift more of the workload to the GPU and make the 5060 Ti a better fit. There’s no reason to upgrade purely because you want to change resolution.
If yours is the 16 GB model, I’d try it at 1440p before upgrading. It should handle those games well at optimized high settings. In the more demanding titles, DLSS set to Quality may help you stay around 60 FPS without making the image look noticeably worse.
That makes sense. I may be getting ahead of myself and should probably see how the current card performs at 1440p first.
