I was recently given 32GB of DDR4 memory and want to get back into sim racing. I'm aiming for roughly 120 FPS at medium-to-high settings in games such as Assetto Corsa, F1 25, and similar titles while using a 3440×1440 ultrawide monitor for extra immersion. What AM4-based build would give me the best chance of reaching those goals while staying under 2,000 CAD, excluding the RAM I already have? Performance matters most, but I'd still prefer a case and component combination that doesn't look completely plain.

For an AM4 build, the Ryzen 7 5800X3D is still an excellent gaming CPU, but you should prioritize the graphics card after choosing the processor. At 3440×1440 and around 120 FPS, the GPU will usually be the limiting factor, especially in newer F1 games. Pair the CPU with a decent B550 motherboard, a quality 750–850W power supply, and spend as much of the remaining budget as possible on the GPU. If the 5800X3D is too expensive or difficult to find, the Ryzen 7 5700X3D is usually the better-value AM4 option.
Is the 5800X3D still being produced? I haven’t followed the CPU market recently and wasn’t sure whether it’s still easy to buy.
