I'm looking to expand the storage on my desktop PC and considering adding another M.2 SSD. I currently have an ASROCK B450m Steel Legend motherboard. The lower M.2 slot is already in use, but the upper Ultra M.2 slot beneath the CPU is empty. I noticed that it seems to have two slots stacked together. I'm curious about which M.2 SSDs are compatible with this motherboard. Does it matter which of the stacked slots I use? Are there any pathing issues or power limitations I should be aware of?

The Ultra M.2 slot on your ASROCK B450m Steel Legend is actually a single slot, not two stacked ones. It supports NVMe SSDs and connects via a PCIe 3.0 x4 interface to the CPU. You can use PCIe 4.0 and 5.0 SSDs, but they'll be limited by the PCIe 3.0 bandwidth, which is around 3500 MB/s.
So, if I were to go for something like a Western Digital Green SN350, it would work, right? Once I install it, do I just screw it in and it's good to go?
