I'm choosing a new PC case for an ASUS ROG Astral RTX 5080. I don't need the absolute lowest GPU temperatures, but I do want strong overall airflow so the card can run at healthy temperatures for years without being cramped or unnecessarily heat-soaked. My priorities are enough clearance for the large GPU, good build quality, support for a 360mm AIO cooler, and a design I won't feel the need to replace anytime soon. What cases would be good choices?

For a mid-tower, I’d look at the Lian Li Lancool 217 or ASUS ProArt PA401. If you want more space, the Antec Flux Pro, Fractal North XL, and ASUS ProArt PA602 are worth considering. These give you plenty of room for a large graphics card, additional fans, and a 360mm radiator.
Most modern airflow-focused cases should handle an RTX 5080 without trouble, as long as you confirm the GPU length and thickness clearance. Good options include the Fractal Meshify 3, Lian Li Lancool 216 or 217, Antec C5, NZXT H9 Flow, and Cooler Master HAF 500. The main thing is choosing a case with unrestricted front or bottom intake and enough room around the card.
The Lian Li Lancool 207 is another excellent airflow case. In general, any recent case designed around unrestricted airflow and with top-mounted 360mm radiator support should work well. Just check the exact GPU clearance rather than relying only on the case category, since the ROG Astral is a particularly large card.
You probably don’t need a full tower solely because it’s an RTX 5080. Most well-designed mid-towers have enough space and fan mounting options. Temperatures will depend heavily on the intake and exhaust fan setup, dust filters, and how well the radiator and GPU airflow are arranged. If you use an Arctic Liquid Freezer III, double-check radiator and motherboard clearance because its radiator assembly is unusually thick.
