I'm having trouble downloading PDF transaction receipts from one bank's website using Safari on my iPhone. When I tap the download button, a loading spinner appears briefly and then disappears, but no PDF opens and nothing appears in Safari's downloads. PDFs from other websites—and receipts from another bank—download normally. I've already tried allowing pop-ups and requesting the desktop version of the site, but neither helped. The same receipt downloads successfully in Safari on my Mac, and the bank's official app also downloads it without a problem. Until about a month ago, Safari showed a download arrow after using this bank's website, but that indicator and the downloaded file no longer appear. Is there anything I can change on my iPhone, or is this likely an issue with the bank's website?

There may not be anything you can fix locally if the website changed how it creates or serves the PDFs. You could check whether Safari shows a small download icon in the address bar or bottom toolbar after opening the receipt, but if the file never appears there, the bank likely needs to correct the site. It would be worth reporting that PDF receipts stopped downloading on iPhone Safari about a month ago.
The bank’s website is probably generating the PDF inside the page instead of providing a normal file link. iPhone Safari handles those on-the-fly downloads more strictly than desktop Safari, so the spinner can disappear without showing an error. Since the file works on your Mac and in the bank’s app, this is probably a compatibility problem with the bank’s mobile website rather than an iPhone setting.
That makes sense. I tried the bank’s official app and the PDF downloaded normally, so I’ll use that for now.
I also tried pressing and holding the download button, but no menu appeared and the download still failed. The Mac version works, which seems to support the idea that the mobile site is the problem.
