I forgot my iPhone passcode and ended up disabling my iPhone 7 running iOS 15.8.8. After resetting it, my previous apps were gone, but my photos came back. I realized iCloud was enabled, and I also have an iPad Air 2 signed in to the same account. How can I tell whether my photos are syncing to iCloud, and will they remain available if I reset the iPad too?

If you can sign in to iCloud.com and see your photos in the Photos section, iCloud Photos is probably enabled for that account and those pictures have been uploaded. You can also check Settings > [your name] > iCloud > Photos on the iPad. Make sure it uses the same Apple Account and let it finish syncing over Wi‑Fi before resetting anything. iCloud Photos syncs pictures, but it is separate from a complete device backup, so apps and other data may need to be downloaded or restored separately.
The website shows photos dating back to when I first got my phone. Does that confirm that iCloud Photos is turned on?
