Advice Needed for Building My First Gaming PC for Minecraft

I've been diving into PC part research for a few days now, but I'm feeling a bit lost. I've always been a console gamer, but my friends are starting a Minecraft server, and I want to join in. I'm also looking to run some basic shaders to enhance the game's visuals. I'm aiming to build a setup that can run Minecraft at 60FPS without any mods, and I'd like to know what specs I should be looking at to eventually support shaders like Sildur's Enhanced Default.

From my findings, it seems a decent budget build typically includes:
- Ryzen 5 3600 or 5600 CPU
- A basic micro ATX motherboard
- At least 16GB of RAM
- A minimum of 1TB SATA SSD storage
- A suitable graphics card, which is where I'm stuck because there are so many options out there!

Currently, I'm using an old 1080p 60Hz monitor that I got for free, but I'm thinking of upgrading to a 1440p 144Hz display if I enjoy PC gaming.

My budget is strictly $600, and I want to keep costs low wherever possible. What are your thoughts on sourcing parts from sites like Jawa or Facebook Marketplace for used or new components? Also, I'm eager to try building the PC myself, but I'd consider a prebuilt system if it offers better value for my budget. I'd love to hear your insights and whether I'm on the right track. Thanks!

You should definitely go for an NVMe SSD instead of a SATA one since they are often the same price now and offer much better speeds. Go for at least a Ryzen 5000 series CPU. Also, think about what graphics settings you want: high, low, or ultra? The Intel B580 has been dropping in price and might give you more bang for your buck compared to AMD's offerings right now.

I'm aiming for just above base graphics settings for Minecraft, but I will definitely check out the B580!

- **Motherboard**: Gigabyte B550M DS3H AC - $89.99
- **RAM**: Silicon Power 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3200 - $52.99
- **Storage**: Western Digital 1TB NVMe SSD - $64.98
- **Graphics Card**: ASRock Challenger OC Arc B570 10 GB - $219.99
- **Case**: Zalman T3 PLUS MicroATX - $39.86
- **Power Supply**: MSI MAG A550BN 550W - $54.99

Check out this bundle I found: a basic B550M motherboard with 16GB RAM, which is a great deal right now since RAM prices are rising. The Ryzen 5500 would give you a good balance of performance and cost, but you can also look into the 5600 or 5600X for a bit better performance if you can stretch your budget. For the GPU, consider something like a 9060 XT or an Intel GPU like the B570 that’s been getting decent reviews lately.

That bundle looks awesome! Great tip on the price too. I think I'll go with that for the motherboard and RAM.

Totally agree! No need for top-tier GPUs if you're just running unmodded Minecraft at 1080p. Save some cash for future upgrades.
