Advice on Upgrading My Older Gaming PC

Hey everyone! I just picked up a budget PC that's about a decade old. It has an Intel Core i5 processor (probably a second or third gen like the i5 2400 or 3470), 8GB of DDR3 RAM (planning to add an extra 8GB), and a Sapphire AMD Radeon R7 260X with 2GB of GDDR5. This setup works pretty well for 720p and 1080p at low settings on older games and esports titles. I also have a 190GB HDD and a 128GB external USB drive. I've been running lightweight applications and older games smoothly at 30-60 fps, and I'm happy with anything above 15 fps. I'm already set with games like Garry's Mod, TF2, Ultrakill, CS:GO, and Half-Life 1 & 2. I'm curious about what older games from the early 2010s, like Fallout 3, New Vegas, GTA IV, Portal, or Half-Life, would run perfectly on my system. Also, I'm looking for suggestions on any inexpensive upgrades or parts to enhance my PC's performance. Any advice?

You can really score on upgrading older systems. For around $50, you might trade up to an RX 480 or 580, and sell that R7 260X for about $25. Plus, adding a 512GB SATA III SSD would work wonders for your load times and overall performance. It's a great way to breathe new life into your rig!
