I'm on the hunt for WiFi mapping software that won't break the bank. In the past, we had a tool that allowed us to upload a building blueprint, set the scale, and then walk around to map the WiFi. I've heard of Ekahau, but at around $5,000, it's way too pricey for what I need—just maybe a couple of uses a year to ensure everything's running smoothly. Are there any other options out there that are more budget-friendly?

Ubiquiti has a scanner that's roughly $100. I can't say it matches Ekahau's precision, but it might be enough for your needs!
If you're looking for something even simpler, the Unifi WiFiMan app on Android provides a quick and free way to create a heat map. It’s great if you need a fast solution without any costs!
Check this out: it's called HeatMapper. I just found it online, and although I haven't personally tried it, it could be a suitable option. You might want to explore how well it works for what you need!
We recently got Haminna's scanner, and it's pretty great! While it's still not super cheap, it's a lot more affordable than Ekahau and does the job well.
NetSpot is pretty economical and user-friendly. What specific measurements are you hoping to take with the software?
