I've recently realized that some emulators I installed on my Pop!_OS aren't available through APT, so I went with Flatpak. However, I noticed that these Flatpak versions are unverified. The Dolphin Emulator is my main concern, and their website suggests adding a Flatpak repository. Should I add that repository, or stick with the version from the Cosmic Store on Pop!_OS? Is one option safer than the other? Or am I just being overly paranoid? Back when I used Windows, I was fine with running .exe files. I'd appreciate any advice!

Flatpak verification mostly just means the project owner has given the thumbs up. Just because it's unverified doesn’t mean it’s unsafe. In fact, an unverified Flatpak is still more secure than running an .exe from the internet on Windows. Flathub has some checks in place to keep things a bit safer.
Plus, Flatpaks run in a container, which isolates them from your OS, giving you more control over what they can access. They're generally safer than any .exe.
