Am I Ready for a Programming Career?

I'm a high school student about to transition to university next year, and I've spent a lot of time learning programming—more than your average freshman, I think, because I genuinely enjoy it. I recently developed a small social media app you can check out here: www.yuzzwatch.com. After completing it, I took a hard look at my code and found it lacking in structure and readability. Watching developers like Neetcode and Kantan Coding made me realize how important these aspects are. So, I'm currently working on a new project—a multiplayer game using websockets—and I'm trying to focus on writing cleaner, more organized code this time around. This brings me to the question: do you think I'm good enough to pursue programming professionally? I'd love your feedback on my code too, accessible here: https://github.com/bigabuggg/multiplayer-worm-game.git. I know there aren't many comments since I'm still getting into that, but I'm mainly looking for advice on my structure, variable naming, and overall readability.

A cool approach could be to take a break from this project for about six months. When you come back, if you can easily navigate and add features to your old code, that means you wrote it well. It’s a good test for readability!

I checked out your repo, and honestly, you're ahead of where I was at your age. Most people I've met didn't even start coding until college, so you're doing great! Keep practicing and you'll improve your skills further. You're on the right track!

I'm not reviewing your code, but trust me, you're making the right moves toward becoming a solid software engineer. Understanding code maintenance and architecture is key; that's what sets you apart from hobbyists. Keep focusing on those best practices!

It's kind of pointless to ask for feedback here since most people are still learning too. Just focus on improving your skills. Don't let others make you doubt yourself—just keep coding and learning!

You've already completed a project, which is a huge achievement! As your skills grow, you'll understand the importance of clean design and well-named variables. Just remember, everyone starts somewhere. Keep at it!
