Anyone else feeling stuck as a developer? Need advice!

Hey everyone! I'm reaching out because I'm really passionate about programming, but lately I've been struggling to find projects that excite me. I've been coding in C# for almost three years and I'm comfortable with things like database connections, NuGet packages, and even created a 2D game on my own without using Unity. I also know some Python, C++, HTML/CSS, JavaScript, and React, though I'm not as proficient in those as I am in C#.

Recently, I've been exploring Linux and ethical hacking, yet I still can't latch onto a project that truly grabs my attention. I'm feeling a bit bored with the usual stuff—basic web apps and competitive programming challenges just aren't cutting it anymore. I want to work on something that really feels meaningful and makes me excited to code 24/7.

Additionally, I'm finding it challenging to secure my first dev job, which seems especially tough in LATAM. I also want to figure out what my 'thing' is. I started an ambitious project to build a blockchain in Python, intended to transition it to C++, but I've lost motivation along the way.

Is it normal to feel this way? Have others experienced this phase? I'm open to any advice or project ideas—right now, I'm just focusing on learning more about Linux!

I'm kind of in the same boat as you! It's tough finding inspiration sometimes, but remember you don’t necessarily need to be super passionate about every project. Having skills that are in demand can lead to opportunities. Maybe try getting certified in platforms like Microsoft, AWS, or Google Cloud? That knowledge could make you more appealing to employers, especially in your region.

Learning AWS could be a game-changer! Skills like Lambda, DynamoDB, and EC2 are super in-demand right now. It really opened up a new world of possibilities for me when I dove into it. I suggest focusing on finishing any project you start, even if it feels daunting. You’ll learn a lot along the way!

Totally agree! AWS skills are on fire right now!

Have you thought about combining your programming skills with something else you're interested in? Sometimes blending your passions can lead to amazing projects. For example, if you love video games, could you create a simple mod or a tool related to a game you enjoy? That way, you're building something you care about while also coding.

I do love video games, but I find game development a bit daunting. Plus, it seems like all the jobs here focus on HTML/CSS, which I see everywhere on job boards.
