Are European Companies Really Choosing EU Vendors? Anyone Know Good VPNs?

I've been noticing a trend where it seems like more European companies are leaning towards using EU vendors instead of US-based services for their IT needs. This shift appears to be influenced by concerns over compliance, data sovereignty issues, and a general desire to keep operations closer to home. I'm curious if others have observed this change as well. Are your organizations promoting or even requiring a shift toward EU-based solutions?

On a related note, I'm currently on the lookout for reliable business VPN providers that are based in the EU. I'd love to hear your recommendations and any experiences you've had with them, especially regarding reliability, performance, and adherence to EU data protection regulations. Do you think this trend towards EU vendors is growing, or is it just some talk among management? Thanks!

We're definitely transitioning to European vendors. For example, we switched from PatchMyPC to RoboPack and replaced Cisco gear with Mikrotik and Teltonika products. There are certainly some things we can't change, but so far, it's been a positive shift for us, saving money while getting equal or better solutions. Like you mentioned, it’s all about compliance, data sovereignty, and keeping everything closer to home.

Which Mikrotik devices are you using? I'm particularly interested in the CRS 354, do you have any insights on that?

It seems like they should be moving that way, but honestly, I'm not seeing a strong push. I've even heard of EU organizations still heavily relying on North American services, which feels a bit ironic given that they're the ones making the rules. It’s kind of a letdown when you realize those who enforce the regulations might not even be following them completely.
