I'm considering creating a TLS/SSL certificate monitoring service that would automate renewal using Let's Encrypt. The main feature would be to set up a CNAME for DNS-01 just once, enabling the system to monitor public certificates for hosts and databases, and renew them automatically without the usual hassle of API keys and agents. I envision this as an open-source tool with a cloud component. I'm curious if there's a demand for such a tool. Would it be useful to you? What features would encourage you to use it, like a web-based dashboard, Slack or email alerts, or managing multiple domains in one place? Any other ideas?

There are already services like Cert Manager that cover this functionality pretty well. It might be a fun project, but it's a pretty solved problem at this point.
Sounds like a cool idea, but honestly, tools like Certbot handle most renewal situations pretty effectively. Pair it with something like Zabbix for alerts, and you’re set!
You could just use ACME protocol clients like acme.sh or Certbot. If monitoring is still needed, there are existing solutions for that, too.
