Are My CPU Temperatures Normal?

Hey everyone! I just built a new computer after a long time and I'm curious about whether the temperatures for my AMD 9800x3D CPU are within the normal range. I had some trouble installing the cooler—don't really have a go-to reference for what to expect, which is why I'm reaching out for help! I monitored the temps during about 15 minutes of gaming (COE33). Here's the setup:
- CPU: 9800x3D
- Cooler: Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120
- Case: Lian Li A3-mATX (with three intake fans at the bottom and two exhaust fans, one at the back and one on the top)
- Motherboard: Gigabyte B850M GAMING X WIFI6E
- GPU: Gigabyte 5070 ti Windforce

Thanks for any advice!

It looks like you're getting pretty close to thermal limits with temps reaching 90°C. That's higher than what I'd typically expect, but without knowing your room's temperature, it's hard to say for sure. If your case has a closed front, it might be restricting airflow. Try removing the side panel temporarily to see if that improves things!

Your CPU hasn't started thermal throttling, so that's a good sign! However, 93°C is quite hot for gaming. When you say you struggled with the cooler installation, what exactly happened? Make sure you're using as many fans as possible, set to ramp up with CPU temps. If the cooler seems off, consider an affordable thermalright AIO to help manage temps better.

It usually spikes around 90°C during intense game loading. I messed up a bit while installing and applied thermal paste a little too generously. I shared my fan setup, but I can add another exhaust fan on top. Will that conflict with cooling the CPU?
