Are My New CPU Temps Normal After Upgrading?

I recently upgraded my system from an A8-7680 on an FM2+ motherboard to a new AM4 setup, but I'm noticing that my idle temperatures have jumped quite a bit. The old setup would idle around 26-30 degrees Celsius, but now with the same air cooler and case fan configuration, I'm seeing idle temps of 43-47 degrees Celsius. Is this normal for my new setup, especially with a 5500GT? Do FM2+ systems generally run cooler than AM4? I'm looking for some feedback based on your experiences. Thanks in advance!

Idle temps around 43-47 degrees aren't anything to stress about. What's more important is how your system handles heavier loads. That's where you'll want to keep an eye on temps.

Thanks for the response! When I play Asphalt Legends at 1080p on medium settings, my temps go up to about 70-74 degrees. Is that in the safe range?

It's completely normal for CPUs from newer generations to run a bit warmer. The power and performance they deliver come at a slight temperature increase. So don't worry too much about those numbers when idling.
