I'm considering building my own PC but came across a prebuilt system at Micro Center featuring an Intel Core Ultra 9 285K processor, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 with 32GB GDDR7, 64GB DDR5-6000 RAM, and a 2TB SSD for $3,600. Is it viable to build a similar system for less? I'm curious if this deal is as great as it seems or if I could save some cash by putting one together myself.

If you're looking at gaming performance, the AMD Ryzen 7 9800x3D actually outperforms the Intel Ultra 9 285K, making it a better option for similar building. Definitely worth considering if performance is a priority for you!
From what I've seen on PCPartPicker, you can actually build it yourself with an upgraded Ryzen 9 9950x3D for about the same price, or even a tad less. The prebuilt system isn't a terrible deal, but if you're willing to put in some time, the build can be more worthwhile in the long run.
Honestly, if you grab a Zotac GAMING GeForce RTX 5090 for around $2,249, you’d still have over $1,000 for the rest of the parts, and it would still be a better value. I found a complete PC build for under $3,500 with similar specs. You should check out PCPartPicker for the latest deals, too!

Any clue where to find that Zotac for its MSRP? Seems tough to get at times!
