Are My PSU Cables Compatible with My Motherboard?

I'm trying to figure out if my PSU cables will work with my motherboard. My motherboard has a CPU power slot that's 2 x 8 pins with a mix of 4 rounded and 4 square pins. On the other hand, my PSU cables also have 2 x 8 pins, but they have 6 rounded and 2 square pins. Does this mean I'm out of luck, or are they still compatible?

It looks like those are PCIe power connectors, not the ATX connector, so they aren't compatible. Make sure to check for other connectors or cables, especially if you have a modular PSU. You’ll want something that fits correctly to avoid any issues!

But the cable says CPU in big letters and I have separate PCIe cables for my GPU. It’s clearly the CPU cable from my PSU; it’s just not fitting for the motherboard. The PSU is a Seasonic FOCUS gx1000, and the data sheet mentions EPS/ATX. Does that mean they might be cross-compatible?
