I'm working on a budget PC build with an AMD Ryzen 5 9600x and RTX 5070 (maybe even the Ti version). I'm trying to decide if I should go for a B850 motherboard for future-proofing, even though I'm not planning to upgrade anything in the near future. I'll likely be reselling the PC in about 2-3 years. Also, I'm curious about which Gigabyte motherboard model to choose: Gaming, Eagle, Aorus Elite, or Aorus Pro?

Honestly, I'd steer clear of Gigabyte altogether. There are other brands that offer more reliability and better features. Just my two cents!
When it comes to gaming PCs, it's generally a good idea to invest around half your budget into the graphics card. The RTX 5070 is an excellent choice for builds in the $1,000-$1,100 range. For the Ryzen 5 9600X, I feel it fits best in builds starting at $1,200. As for the motherboards, the B850 is a newer model (2025) and typically has better features like PCIe 5. If you're not sure you need these upgrades, think about your specific needs before deciding between the B650 and B850.
If you're selling in 2-3 years, I recommend saving some money and just going with the B650. The B850 has some nice features, but if you won't be using them, potential buyers might not care about that upgrade. Plus, it keeps your build more budget-friendly!
About the Asrock boards, I used to suggest them, but I've seen some issues with them burning out 9xxx CPUs lately. The B850 Eagle is one I’d go for if you want something that's generally reliable and feature-rich, but it depends on your budget. Just be cautious with those Asrock boards.
