I recently had a scare with my online banking when someone attempted to log in to my account, and the bank immediately froze it. After spending two hours at the bank, they suggested my computer might be compromised. However, I have always been careful about what I click on and haven't dealt with malware in years. They won't unlock my account until I restart both my computer and my phone. The strange part is I only use my phone for banking and my computer hasn't been used for that in a while. Meanwhile, my joint account with my partner is fine. I've done thorough scans on both my devices—no malware found. My partner helped too, and we're both seeing the same clean results. However, the bank insists that the issue lies with my computer. Does anyone have any ideas on what steps I can take to figure out the cause of this issue?

You should definitely check your startup programs and task scheduler for any suspicious items. Infostealers and Remote Access Trojans (RATs) are often really good at hiding and can turn off your antivirus too. Look at the actual file paths—they might seem normal at first glance but could be malicious.
