I'm looking for recommendations on chairs that are great for long coding sessions but don't break the bank. I know many of you will suggest Herman Miller chairs, but I'm hoping for more affordable options. I've had a bad experience before with a foam chair that ended up stained and had a short warranty. I really want something comfortable for hours of use, especially in my small home office. What chairs have worked well for you?

I've had the Autonomous ErgoChair Pro for over 5 years and it's solid. No back pain, and I use it every day! It's comfortable with plenty of adjustments. What more could you ask for?
Did you opt for the mesh or foam seat? Curious about comfort!
I used to sit on a folding chair I found at a garage sale and thought it was fine until my back made a sound like bubble wrap when I stood up. Definitely upgrading after that experience!
LOL, that’s hilarious! Sounds like a serious sign to get a new chair.
Totally! I had the same problem with dining chairs — no fun at all after sitting for too long.
I tried a few budget chairs but saved up and went for mid-range. It's worth investing in a solid chair if you’re sitting for hours each day. Totally changed my back pain situation!
I just went to IKEA and tried out every chair. It was a fun way to find the right one!
You can find used Herman Miller Aerons for more reasonable prices. I bought mine for around $450, and they last forever. Just make sure to check for any wear and tear first!
How are they for fitting in a car? Can they disassemble easily?
I snagged a refurbished Steelcase Leap V2 from Crandall Office. It feels brand new and is super comfortable. That chair is a game changer for those long coding hours!
I second this! I got one too and it’s been fantastic for my back.
It’s good if you have an average build but might not be great if you're taller. I had to switch to a larger size eventually.
I switched from a gaming chair to the ErgoChair Pro and it changed my life. I work long hours without any regret!
