Best Blue Light Filter for Linux Without Hassle?

I'm on Manjaro and desperately looking for a blue light filter that I can quickly turn on or off without any complicated syncing to a time server. I'm a night-shift worker and I'd really like something simple to use during my winding down period before sleep. So far, all the options I've come across either depend on local time or just don't work for me. Any recommendations?

If you're using XFCE, unfortunately it might not have the same options as KDE. But you could give KDE Plasma a try; it allows for a simple toggle to enable or disable the blue light filter without fuss.

Haha, good to know! I might just switch to KDE if I can't find a suitable alternative for XFCE.

I recommend checking out this project: [sct](https://github.com/faf0/sct). It works pretty well for getting the job done even on systems like Mint.

I tried the installation commands you provided, but it didn't work for me on Manjaro. Are there any special commands for Arch-based distros?

I've had good luck with sct; it's really straightforward to use. Glad it worked out for you!

What desktop environment are you using? Some, like Gnome and KDE, already have built-in blue light filter functions that you can easily toggle on and off.
