Best Budget GPU Upgrade Options from a Radeon RX 5700XT

Hey everyone! I built a budget gaming rig back in 2020, choosing the Radeon RX 5700 XT for its great value. I've really enjoyed it, but I think it's time for an upgrade. My main concern is that my current setup has a 550W non-modular power supply, which I figured would need replacing when I upgrade the GPU. However, I recently discovered that the 9060 XT uses less power than my current 5700 XT, so I'm back on the hunt for an upgrade. I'm looking to keep my budget under $500. Is the 9060 XT a good choice? Should I consider other cards or even a GPU along with a new PSU? Also, I'm contemplating an upgrade to my Ryzen 5 3600 CPU too. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

I agree that the 9060 XT is a fantastic starting point. If you're lucky to find a used 9070 XT within your budget, that would be even better. It performs well at both 1080p and 1440p. For your CPU upgrade, I’d suggest considering a Ryzen 5 5600 series, which should fit your budget nicely and boost performance without going AM5.

The 9060 XT 16GB is around $400 new, so it's affordable! If you can manage to find a used 9070 XT for $500, that would be a perfect upgrade.

I just picked up a 9060 XT 16GB for $400 on Newegg last week, so you might find a good deal if you look around!

The 9060 XT 16GB is a solid card, offering great performance and new features. Plus, it has good driver support! It should serve you well, especially for 1080p gaming. If you can find one at a good price, it’s definitely worth considering.

Definitely go for the 9060 XT, just make sure you get the 16GB version. It's a good deal, but I’ve seen prices fluctuate, and it's hard to find it under $350 nowadays.

Both the 9060 XT 16GB and 5060 Ti 16GB are decent upgrades, and you'll see a significant increase in speed. Plus, the new FSR4 upscaling is a nice perk for better performance. If you’re gaming at higher resolutions, that could really help.
