Best CPU Options for Video Editing on a €1500 Budget

Hey everyone! I just graduated from editing school and am starting my journey into freelance video editing. Unfortunately, I'm still using an old PC with a GTX 1060, so any upgrades will be a big improvement. While I do enjoy gaming, it's not my main focus since I don't play on ultra settings. My primary goal is to find a good CPU for rendering in After Effects. I'm considering a 5070 Ti for my GPU, but it's a bit pricey at around €800. I want to stay within a €1500 budget for both the CPU and GPU. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

If you can squeeze it into your budget, definitely consider the 7900X. It’s probably the best choice for your needs, although the 9900X would outperform it if you can make it work financially. Otherwise, a 7700X or even an Intel option like the 12400K can give you good performance. By the way, which country are you buying from? It might help narrow down options!

Thanks for the advice! What do you think about the 7 9800X3D? Is it better than the 9700X for rendering? I can buy from various sites like Amazon in France, Belgium, Germany, or the Netherlands.

The 9800X3D is great for gaming, but if rendering is your focus, it might not give you the best performance compared to the 9700X. Always good to check prices across different sites to find the best deals!

Intel's Ultra 7 series can also be a strong choice if you find it cheaper than the 9900X. Generally, Intel outperforms AMD when it comes to production tasks at lower prices. While AMD's x3d chips are great for gaming, they might not be the best fit for video editing if gaming isn't your main concern.

You might want to look at the Core Ultra lineup for your CPU. If your budget allows, pairing a 5070 Ti with either a 7900X or a 9900X could be your best bet. But if the 9900X is too expensive, the 7700X is a solid option too!
