I'm looking to upgrade my CPU while keeping my TUF Gaming B550-Plus motherboard. My current setup is a bit outdated, with an AMD Ryzen 5 3600X and an NVIDIA GTX 1060. I'm primarily a 1080p gamer, mainly playing ARPGs and CRPGs, and I've noticed some graphical issues in Path of Exile 2 that seem to be CPU-related. My goal here is to find a suitable CPU upgrade that can work with my current motherboard - specifically, what would be the best options available?

Before you decide on a CPU, check your CPU and GPU usage while playing Path of Exile. This will help you see if the bottleneck is indeed the CPU or the GPU.
Keep in mind that upgrade options on AM4 are limited, especially since most of the X3D chips are no longer being produced. Personally, I'm planning to hold off on upgrading until I can move to AM5 and pick up something powerful like an X3D chip paired with a newer GPU. If I were to upgrade now, I’d consider a 5600X.
You might have missed the chance to snag a 5700X3D since it’s been discontinued. A good option now would be the Ryzen 5700X or 5800X. Just keep in mind that your GTX 1060 is pretty outdated—it's worth about $50 now, so it might limit the benefits you get from a CPU upgrade.
The 5800X3D is one of the best CPUs for your motherboard, but I'd recommend the 5700X3D for a better balance if you can find one. However, don't expect a huge performance jump since your GPU is quite old. I really don’t know how it’s still priced at $400; it should be around $60-$80.
