Best CPU Upgrade Options from Ryzen 5 3600

I'm looking to upgrade my CPU since my current Ryzen 5 3600 seems to be causing some noticeable stutters during gaming. My setup has 48GB of DDR4 RAM and an RTX 5060 with 8GB of VRAM. I've made some upgrades over the years, but I want to find a balanced CPU that enhances performance without breaking the bank. I'm not necessarily after the most powerful or pricey AM4 CPU, just something that pairs well with my current graphics card. What are some good options?

Just a heads up, having 48GB with mixed RAM sticks (like 2x16GB and 2x8GB) could be causing some issues as well. It might be worth trying to stick with only the 16GB modules for better compatibility.

I recently swapped my old 3600 for a 5800XT and saw a great improvement, especially in FPS. If you can find it, the 5800X3D could be worth the splurge, although it can be a bit pricey these days.

If you're looking for a solid upgrade, the Ryzen 5700X or even the 5800X can give you a noticeable performance boost. They're both decent choices that won’t empty your wallet too much. Just remember they can run hot, so a good cooler is necessary—my Dark Rock Pro 4 hits 80°C under load with the 5800X.

Have you considered the Ryzen 5600? It's a cheaper option and should still give you a nice boost if you want to stick to a budget. Plus, it runs really well with the RTX 5060.
