Best Ecommerce Platforms for Handling 1000+ Products?

I'm on the hunt for an ecommerce platform capable of managing over 1000 products. I need something that can integrate with QuickBooks, is easily customizable in terms of design and branding, and has a simple inventory interface. It should also incorporate shipping and taxes seamlessly and be straightforward enough for someone who isn't a developer to update and edit. If anyone has recommendations, I'd love to hear your suggestions, as well as thoughts on hosting options. Also, could you share some ballpark estimates for design and development costs?

Definitely consider Shopify! It's user-friendly and perfect for those just starting out, but keep in mind it has limited customization unless you use apps. For WooCommerce, you can customize a lot since it's open source, but it may require more work upfront and ongoing maintenance.

For managing over 1000 products, I'd recommend checking out Shopify or BigCommerce; they scale well and support QuickBooks integration, plus they handle taxes and shipping pretty easily. WooCommerce is another option, but it requires a bit more maintenance. Just keep in mind that the cost can vary based on how much customization you're looking for!

Consider trying MedusaJS as well; it's an open-source alternative to Shopify that's gaining traction. It looks promising for anyone wanting more flexibility without being locked into a specific platform.

I've seen good results with WooCommerce too. We've even got clients with thousands of products running smoothly on it. Just beware that as you scale, you might need to rethink your infrastructure. Shopify's great for ease of use, but WooCommerce can save you money in the long run if you require more bespoke features.
