Best Gnome-Based Distro for Stability and Gaming

I'm currently using Fedora 43 but it's been a real headache with bugs and instability. I'm looking for a new Linux distribution that balances work and gaming, and honestly, this next one is my last chance to make Linux work for me. I've initially looked at Debian, which is known for its stability, but I've heard that the apps can be outdated and it isn't the ideal choice for gaming. I also need a distro that plays nice with Flatpak apps because Fedora 43 isn't cutting it in that regard.

Here's a quick rundown of the distros I've tried:
- **Debian 12**: Felt outdated.
- **Linux Mint**: Not a fan of Cinnamon.
- **Fedora 43 KDE**: Too many bugs; didn't like the desktop environment.
- **Ubuntu**: Slow performance.
- **Zorin**: Constant crashes.

I’ve been using Pop!_OS with an AMD GPU and Intel CPU, and it’s been fantastic for both work and gaming! I’ve seen a lot of complaints about Debian and Ubuntu, but I think if it runs well for you, it’s a solid option. By the way, what are your specs? If you’re facing issues across multiple distros, it could be hardware-related.

Have you tried Bazzite? It’s a Fedora-based distro optimized for gaming, though I didn’t like the Atomic version. Right now, I’m on CachyOS, which is Arch-based, and I’ve enjoyed it so far!

Check out the Distro Selection wiki page for help choosing a new distro. It might give you some good insights! Just remember to take backups and test things out in a virtual machine to avoid any headaches!

Maybe you could give Debian 13 a shot? It might feel a bit more updated than 12. But I get that stability may come at the cost of having older software, so if that's not your thing, it might not work out.

That's true, but I find Debian’s update pace a bit slow for my taste. I thought Fedora would be my golden ticket, but version 43 has been quite the nightmare for me.
