Hi everyone! I'm about to build my first gaming PC after years of playing on a PS4 and I need your advice on which GPU to choose. I'm aiming to game at 1440p, specifically with Sons of the Forest in mind. I know I'll need a powerful GPU for solid performance, but I'd rather prioritize graphics quality over frame rates, even if it means not hitting 100 FPS. Here are the options I've found, along with their prices in Croatia:
- RX 9060 XT 16GB - €440
- RTX 5060 Ti 16GB - €500
- RTX 5070 12GB - €610
- RX 9070 16GB - €640
- RX 9070 XT 16GB is beyond my budget.
If possible, I'd love to avoid going for the RX 9070, but I'm open to stretching my budget if it's really necessary. Any opinions or suggestions for other GPUs would be greatly appreciated!

For value and performance, the 9060 XT is a solid choice. If you're leaning towards Nvidia, definitely consider the 5060 Ti for its features, but keep in mind that if you go for the 9070, you'll get a notable performance boost that might justify the cost.
If you can swing the budget, the 9070 is a fantastic option. I have the 9070 XT, and it handles everything on ultra settings without breaking a sweat. You might find it for around €540, which is reasonable considering its performance.
I've heard mixed things about its upscaling abilities though, any issues with newer games?
Honestly, the RX 9060 XT is probably the best bet. It performs similarly to the 5060 Ti, but without the ray tracing features—which may not be as crucial for you. Just keep in mind that at 1440p, 16GB of VRAM will be beneficial, and the 5070 isn't up to par with the 9070 in that regard.
Great point! I just want something that can last a few years without needing a replacement.
If you're fine with using upscaling tech, the 5060 Ti is a good deal. It’ll keep you gaming at 1440p for a while, but for raw performance, either the 5070 or 9070 will last longer without needing adjustments. Just watch for which software features you want, that might sway your choice.
Thanks for the input! Looks like those extra features might make a big difference in the long run.
It really depends on your CPU, which one are you pairing it with? If you're able to stretch your budget a bit more, I'd recommend going for either the 9060 XT or 9070. The 16GB of VRAM will definitely future-proof your build. The 5070 might not cut it since it has less VRAM and overall isn't as good for 1440p gaming.
I'm using a Ryzen 5 7600X.

I'm really leaning towards Nvidia because of the performance I've read about, so the 5060 Ti sounds tempting, but is it worth stretching the budget for the 9070?
