I've seen debates over upgrading from DDR4, with some comments saying it's only worth it for specific tasks like 3D modeling. I'm curious if there are any AM5 motherboards that actually support DDR4 RAM. Is this just misinformation, or are there viable options? If such board exists, would it be good for gaming performance with something like the Ryzen 7 9800X3D? I'm looking for a way to upgrade from my i7 7700K. Cheers!

Just a heads up, the people boosting that comment might not have the best info; they're coming from a specific community mindset. Trust your own research!
AM5 exclusively supports DDR5, so you won't find any motherboards on that platform that take DDR4. If you're looking to upgrade from your i7 7700K while sticking with DDR4, you might want to consider the Intel 13600K or 14600K as they both offer great gaming performance without requiring a RAM switch.
If you're into gaming and considering the 9800X3D, remember you'll need a solid GPU as well. Make sure your components are all compatible and powerful enough for optimal performance. It's a bit of a splurge, but quality parts make a huge difference!

Thanks for the reality check! I appreciate the help.
