Best GPU Upgrade for My i7 7700k for 1080p Gaming?

I've got a PC set up with an i7 7700k running at 5GHz, 32GB RAM, and currently a GTX 980. I paused my gaming activities for a while but recently started playing again, and I've noticed that my current GPU can't handle the latest games at medium to high settings at 1080p. I'm looking to upgrade my GPU, ideally to something that will fully utilize my CPU's capabilities at 1080p. I'm considering a new or second-hand card, and I plan to use it for just 1-2 years before building a new rig. Options I'm looking at include the 3060, 4060, or 7600 XT. Any recommendations?

A 3060 or a 7600/XT would be a solid choice if you can snag them at a decent price. If you want to go for something brand new and with a warranty, consider an RTX 5050, too!

I’d suggest getting the 4060 if you want DLSS 4.5 support! It should handle everything at medium to high settings, even ultra on older titles without any issues.

I’m using a 1070 SC with my 7700k, and it's great at 1080p on medium/high settings, no ray tracing or recent updates. You can usually find them for around $100, and the 1080s are available for a bit more too. A 2060 or 3060 could work well too, just a bit pricier!

I've got a 7700k and paired it with a 3060 Ti. It runs smoothly on any game I've tried, so I'd say go for it!

You might want to consider the Arc B580; I've had one and really liked it. Just keep in mind it works best if ReBAR is enabled. If you're planning to upgrade your CPU in the future, it could be worth it to sell your 7700k and get something modern like a Ryzen 5 5600 or an Intel 12400F. That way you can really take advantage of current midrange cards!

How did the Arc B580 do for productivity tasks? If I'm choosing between a RX 7600 8GB and the B580, which one would you recommend?

If you don't want to go into all that hassle with CPUs and ReBAR, maybe just stick to something simpler for now!

If you can pick up a 3050, you'll be good to go!
