Hey everyone! I just got the Samsung Odyssey G9 ultrawide monitor that runs at 5160x1440p and 240 Hz, and I'm looking to upgrade my old RTX 2060 6GB GPU. It's been in my Mini-ITX build for about six years now. I'm considering two options: a used RTX 3080 10GB (or the 3080 Ti) and the newer RTX 5070 Prime 12GB.
From what I've researched, it seems like I'd need to upgrade my power supply for the RTX 3080, but the RTX 5070 might work without a PSU upgrade since it's less power hungry. Would love some advice on this, as I'm not super tech-savvy!
I primarily use my setup for architectural visualization (using Twinmotion and Rhino) and I sometimes game, mostly on League of Legends. I've noticed my current setup struggles to hit 240 FPS—it usually ranges from 80 to 140 FPS. I'm also interested in trying out games like Cyberpunk. I don't need ultra settings, just enough to enjoy my new monitor!

Consider the RTX 3080 if you're looking for the best performance, but do keep in mind that you will likely need a PSU upgrade for it. AMD options can be good too, especially if they perform well in the software you use. Just beware, UserBenchmark can be biased against AMD, so keep that in mind when researching!
I think going with the RTX 5070 is a solid choice, especially if you can find it at or near MSRP. Just make sure it'll fit in your Mini-ITX case, as it's bigger than your current GPU. Also, you shouldn't need to upgrade your PSU for the 5070, which is a plus!
The RTX 5070 is probably your best bet here. It's a great fit for QHD gaming, and you might need a bit of tweaking to hit that 240Hz with your ultrawide, but it's doable. There are plenty of smaller form factor models available that should slot right into your build.
