Hey everyone! I'm looking for some advice on upgrading my GPU from a GTX 1080. I built a new PC last year but kept my old graphics card, and I think it's time to make an upgrade, especially with potential price hikes on the horizon. I usually play on my PS5, but I'm really eager to dive into PC gaming and experience 1440p on my 144Hz monitor.
I generally enjoy story-driven games, but I've been having a blast with Battlefield 6 lately and would love to see how a new GPU can enhance my gaming experience. I'm not super knowledgeable about DLSS and FSR yet, but I'm open to learning if that could help.
Here's my setup:
- AMD Ryzen 9 7900
- B650 Eagle AX Motherboard
- 32GB RAM
- Current GPU: GeForce GTX 1080
- Samsung 850 EVO 250GB SSD for Windows
- 4TB mechanical drive for other storage
- Corsair RM750e (2023) 750W 80+ Gold Power Supply
- 32" LG UltraGear UHD Monitor (144Hz)
My budget is around £500 ($667), and I'm based in the UK. What GPU should I consider, and would a 5070 be a good choice? I'd love to hear your thoughts!

For your budget, you might want to look at the RTX 5070 or RX 9070, which sits between the RTX 5070 and RX 9070 XT. If you can stretch your budget a bit, the RX 9070 XT is a great option too, priced around £550. Also, consider adding an M.2 SSD if you're currently using an HDD for your games; it can significantly improve loading times!

Thanks for the tip about the SSD! I hadn't considered that.
