Best GPU Upgrade Options for My Aging PC

I've built my PC about six years ago, and I'm looking to upgrade my graphics card since the current one, an RX 580, is starting to show its age. I'm considering doing just a GPU upgrade for now since I have a 1080p monitor but might switch to a 1440p in the future. My max budget is around $400. The GPUs I'm looking at include the RX 6650 XT, RX 6700 XT, RTX 3060, and RX 7600. I did think about getting an RX 6800, but I'm worried I might need to upgrade more of my system to support it. Here are my current specs:

**CPU**: AMD Ryzen 2600 3.4 GHz 6-Core
**Motherboard**: GigaByte B450M DS3H Micro ATX AM4
**RAM**: 16 GB DDR4 (Corsair, 2 x 8 GB)
**Storage**: 256 GB + 500 GB SATA SSD
**GPU**: Radeon RX 580
**PSU**: EVGA SuperNova 550 G3 (80+ Gold)
**Monitor**: Acer XF270H - 1080p 144hz
**Case**: Cooler Master Masterbox Q300L

Thanks for any advice you can give!

For your budget, the RX 6700 XT is an excellent pick. It's significantly faster than your RX 580 and works well with your Ryzen 2600. You shouldn't have issues with your PSU, and it provides a nice balance for 1080p gaming and even 60fps at 1440p. I'd steer clear of the 6800 for now due to PSU limits and case airflow issues.

I've also been leaning towards the RX 6700 XT. I was worried about power draw with the RX 6800 since my PSU is only 550W, but it looks like the 6700 XT will be a solid fit!

Just a heads up, make sure to check what currency you’re referring to with the $400. Prices can vary greatly, and you should find that some of the GPUs you're considering could be cheaper than you think, especially if you check for local deals.

Thanks for the tip! I meant $400 USD, just realized I forgot to specify that.

You might want to consider the RX 6800 if it's available at a similar price. It does require a solid power supply, but if you're okay with a temporary CPU bottleneck, it could be a great choice for you. However, I'd definitely recommend upgrading your CPU down the road for the best performance.

I know I would need a CPU upgrade eventually, but I think I can manage with one of these GPUs for now.
