I'm considering switching to Linux since I don't use my PC much anymore and really don't want to upgrade to Windows 11. My main focus is finding a distro that can run Minecraft and The Sims 4 because I love creative games! I'm new to this whole Linux thing, and I'm looking for some guidance on which version to choose. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Just to add, if you're using a Debian-based distro, it can enable easier management with tools like the Snap Store or Flatpak for apps. And concerning Sims 4, you can run it via Steam using Proton, which really helps with compatibility! Best of luck with your switch!

For gaming, I would suggest trying out Linux Mint or Kubuntu. They're user-friendly and should support both Minecraft and Sims 4 without any issues. If you're into mods for Minecraft, consider using the Prism Launcher; it makes adding mods from CurseForge and Modrinth super easy.

There are a ton of options! You could consider running a live version of different distros first to get a feel for them. Arch-based distros like Garuda Gaming can be great, but they can be a bit tricky to set up if you’re not experienced. Linux Mint is an excellent choice for something that feels more like Windows. You can also try out DistroChooser online to find the best one for your needs.

Hey! Can you share your system specs? That way, we can recommend something better suited for your hardware. Generally speaking, with an Intel i5 and a GTX 1650, you should have no problem running any mainstream Linux distro.

Any Linux distribution will likely work for you, although some are more beginner-friendly than others. I often recommend Linux Mint or Pop!_OS for new users. They offer good performance and a straightforward user interface. If you want something really polished for gaming, you might want to check out Nobara Linux—everything's pre-configured for gaming, including Steam!
