Best GPU Upgrades for My Nephew’s PC

I recently built a gaming PC for my 11-year-old nephew, and he's really gotten into gaming on it. He's got a Ryzen 5 5600X, 32GB of DDR4 RAM, and a 6600XT GPU. With his birthday coming up, I want to upgrade his GPU. I'm considering a 9060XT, but it's a bit pricey at around $460. I'd like to know if there are any better, cheaper options, ideally in the $300 range, or even used ones I could look into. Are there any good upgrade suggestions that could outdo the 6600XT?

Check for a used RX 6800 XT with 16GB of VRAM. It pairs perfectly with the 5600X and should fit within your budget if you search locally instead of on eBay. You'll find prices around $280-$300 more frequently there.

That could definitely be the way to go if I decide against the 9060XT.

A used RTX 3080 could be a great pick. I just sold mine for around $320, and you might find one for about $300 if you shop around. It's definitely a step up from the 6600XT.

Thanks for the tip! A 3080 sounds like a solid choice if I can find it in my budget.

You might want to check out the Intel Arc B580. It's worth verifying if it stacks up against the 6600XT, but I've heard decent things about it.

Just a heads up, Intel GPUs have been performing better with new games. Older titles from before 2012 could have some compatibility issues, so that’s something to consider.
