I'm looking for a lightweight Linux distribution that supports the **nvidia340xx driver** and has a desktop environment similar to Windows. My PC specs are 4GB DDR3 RAM, a GT240 graphics card, an Intel Core i2 Q8400 processor, and a 1TB HDD. Any recommendations?

Linux Mint 21.3 is a solid choice if you're looking for something user-friendly and lightweight.
If you want to stick with the Nvidia driver, you’ll likely need to use Xorg and older LTS kernels. I recommend Lubuntu 22.04. Make sure you use the 5.15 kernel and install the nvidia-legacy PPA. Plus, signing up for Ubuntu Pro could offer some free security updates until 2032. You can also use Flatpak or Snap for more recent app versions.
You might want to consider using the nouveau driver, but if you really need the older nvidia drivers, both Arch and Fedora can help. You'll find the drivers available in the AUR for Arch and in RPM Fusion for Fedora.
Definitely look at MX Linux or antiX, as they both include the relevant drivers in MX's AHS repository. You should have a smoother experience with those.
You could try MX Linux or antiX. They are both lightweight and might work well with your setup. Have you checked those out?

Thanks for the tip! Unfortunately, nouveau hasn’t been working well for my video card. I’m waiting to see if anyone else has suggestions before I decide.
