I'm looking for a Linux distribution that is lightweight, not overly customizable, and stable. I've been using Linux Mint for the past two years for my studies, where I've done quite a bit of tinkering and customization—definitely my fault there! Now, I want something simpler that still offers a smooth interface. My computer has 4GB of RAM and a 128GB SSD, so it would be great to find something that runs well on those specs.

You might want to check out antiX or MX Linux with Fluxbox—they’re both pretty lightweight! If you're looking for a smooth experience, think about lightweight desktop environments like Xfce, Lxqt, or Lxde. Popular choices are Debian, Fedora (with Xfce or Mate), Xubuntu, or Lubuntu. They should all work well for your setup!
Debian has been my go-to for ages. For a clean and stable experience, try installing the netinst ISO and pick a lightweight desktop. Your SSD size is ample, and if your system is older with DDR3 RAM, maybe consider upgrading that too—prices are pretty low now!

Yeah, I just snagged some cheap DDR3 RAM for my older setup. It makes a huge difference for multitasking!
