I'm a Mac user looking to speed up my old 2015 MacBook Pro with Linux. I've tried installing Windows and a newer version of macOS, but it's still running slow. I'm in need of a simple Linux distro that I can download and use without too much hassle, as I'm not very experienced with Linux.

I'd suggest trying out Linux Mint 22.2 with the Cinnamon desktop. Just a heads up, the Wi-Fi driver doesn't install automatically, so you might need a bit of Linux know-how to get that sorted out. I usually connect through my phone's hotspot to download the necessary drivers. Overall, it's one of the best versions out there for a user-friendly experience.

Is that a problem specific to Macs? Because when I installed Mint on my Windows laptop, I connected to Wi-Fi right away. Kinda funny, but when I installed Windows 11 on my modified laptop, I had issues with Wi-Fi and the touchpad as well. Had to do some tethering with my phone.
