I'm pretty new to this! I need to clone my SSD and I'm looking for a lightweight USB bootable distro that can help me do that. I've tried using Slax before, but I couldn't figure out how to boot from USB with UEFI. After messing with my BIOS, I don't want to go through that hassle again. I just need something simple for this cloning task. Any suggestions? Thanks!

For a lightweight option, you might want to look into Linux Mint or a Fedora Mate spin. They work well with UEFI setups. Plus, if you're still planning to use Slax, make sure your USB is configured correctly with the right boot flags. Good luck!
I had similar issues with Slax not booting. Sometimes you may need to disable "Fast Startup" in the BIOS/UEFI settings. You should try Clonezilla for cloning your drive; it has both Ubuntu and Debian-based options. Just use the links provided to download the ISO, and you can make a bootable USB with tools like Balena Etcher or Fedora Media Writer. That should do the trick!
Almost any distro should work as long as it’s bootable! You might want to check out Fedora, Arch Linux, or Debian. They all have live versions that can run from USB, and should be able to handle UEFI. Just make sure you burn the ISO to USB correctly and it should boot up fine!

Thanks for the tips! I’ll check out Clonezilla and see how it goes.
