Hey folks! I'm in search of a Linux distribution that works well for both gaming and programming. Here's my setup:
- Intel i7 6700k 4.00 GHz
- Gigabyte GA-Z170X-Gaming 5 motherboard
- Geforce GTX 1060 6G graphics card
- 16 GB of RAM
- Storage: 1 TB + 250 GB SSD
I primarily use XAMPP and NetBeans for my university work right now. I've heard recommendations for Nobara and Pop!_OS, but I'm not sure which one to pick, or if there's a better option out there. What do you all suggest? Thanks in advance!

Honestly, any distribution can work for gaming. Nobara and Pop!_OS have versions optimized for NVIDIA graphics, but you should check documentation for installing proprietary drivers. If you want something in the Debian family, go with Pop!_OS—it balances gaming and development well.
Arch Linux is awesome if you're comfortable with the setup process. It gives you a lot of control, and as a gamer and software engineer, I find it meets all my needs perfectly!
If you want something straightforward for gaming setup, Bazzite could be ideal. For programming, Bazzite-DX is recommended. They both make the process easier, especially with modern drivers.
At the end of the day, it’s about personal preference. Just ensure the distro you choose has the libraries and packages you need for both gaming and development.
Linux Mint is a great choice! You can install NVIDIA graphics drivers easily through the GUI, and the welcome screen has useful steps. It's generally regarded as the best all-around option for most users.

Thanks for the tip! I’ll definitely look into Bazzite-DX for my programming needs.
