Best Linux Distro for My Old Gaming Laptop?

Hey everyone! I have an ASUS TUF fx505dy laptop with a Ryzen 5 3550H CPU, RX560 GPU, and 32GB of RAM. I'm primarily planning to use it for gaming and media. I'm considering options like CachyOS, Bazzite, or Pop!_OS, but I'm open to other suggestions too. Given that my machine is over six years old, will I need to do any tinkering to get things running smoothly, or is setup pretty straightforward?

I have a similar setup with an RX570 and Ryzen 5 3600, but it's on a desktop. I've been using CachyOS and it worked perfectly out of the box. Your laptop might be old, but it can handle most modern features and games without a hitch, so I wouldn't worry too much about compatibility.

If you're going for CachyOS, you won't have to do any tinkering. I’d advise staying away from Bazzite unless you're only focused on gaming—it's not great for anything else. Pop!_OS isn't the best fit for your needs either. You might want to consider Mint or Fedora KDE instead; they generally provide a more balanced experience.

You've got 32GB of RAM on what you call an 'old' laptop? That's impressive! You might want to give BigLinux a try; it's known for giving good performance on older systems.
