I'm currently using a 1440p 120Hz monitor, but I'm considering upgrading to a 4K OLED monitor with around 120Hz refresh rate. However, I'm uncertain if the investment is truly worth it or if I should opt for a more budget-friendly 4K UHD or 2560 OLED monitor instead. I mostly play games like Helldivers, Stardew Valley, and Cyberpunk, so competitive performance isn't my main concern—I'm looking for something that looks great and runs smoothly. My budget is flexible but ideally under $800, which seems to be the going rate for 4K OLED panels.

I can’t provide a specific recommendation right now, but I’ve noticed that monitor prices are starting to drop, unlike two years ago. So it's a good time to invest in one!
A lot of folks pair the 5080 with 4K for gaming or both high refresh rates. For 4K, I suggest a 32" monitor, while a 27" form factor would be perfect for 240Hz. The Gigabyte MO32U is an excellent choice at about $650, or you can check out the ASUS ROG Strix XG27AQDMG for $600. Just remember, both will cost a bit more, but that’s the price of a good experience with a 5080.
I just bought the Samsung G8 32"—it’s a 4K OLED running at 240Hz. It’s a beast, especially considering the smart TV features make it worth it for me. I'm the opposite, though; I got the screen first and now I want to upgrade to a 5080.
When it comes to OLED, you have two main types: QD-OLED and WOLED. Each has its own strengths, depending on how and where you plan to use it. WOLED panels are great in well-lit rooms due to their brightness and contrast, while QD-OLED excels in HDR situations with brilliant color intensity. If your setup is well-lit, lean towards WOLED; otherwise, either will do great! There are several 240Hz 4K options under $800 out there, making them a solid pick.
If your budget allows, I highly recommend going for a 240Hz 4K OLED. I picked up the Asus ROG PG27UCDM for my 5080, and it’s incredible! If that’s too steep, a 1440p monitor with 240+Hz is worth considering, but I’d still opt for an OLED for the best experience.
I got the same Asus monitor back in January, and I can’t imagine going back to anything else!
I've got my 5080 hooked up to a 42" LG C5 running at 144Hz, and it's fantastic. Unless you're after hardcore competitive gaming, you'll be more than satisfied. Run all games at Ultra without any issues. You’re going to love whichever setup you choose!

I totally get that! The prices for these high-quality monitors can be shocking. I also think 4K is necessary, but with the 5080 I doubt I can push all games to max settings.
