Hey everyone! I'm currently using a Ryzen 7 5700x CPU and a 4060 GPU with a TUF Gaming B550-Plus WiFi 2 motherboard. I'm planning to upgrade to an AM5 setup in the next few months and I want to make sure I choose the right motherboard for my new build with a 9800x3d and either a 5070ti or 5080. I've narrowed it down to a few options: the ROG Strix X870E-E, MSI MPG X870E Carbon WiFi, and Gigabyte X870E Aorus Master. I'm looking for insights and experiences to determine which of these motherboards would offer the best overall performance while staying within my budget of $400-$450. Also, I've heard some rumors about Asrock motherboards causing issues with frying CPUs. Is that still a concern? I'm curious about the Taichi X870E and Asrock Phantom Gaming X870E Nova WiFi as possible contenders too. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

The MSI MPG Carbon and the ROG Strix boards are really impressive. I'd personally recommend the Carbon! I've had some issues with ASUS GPUs before, so I'd lean towards MSI. As for Asrock, I had a bad experience with a X870 Riptide WiFi on my 9800x3d, just steer clear of them for now.
If you're aiming for the features of the X870E chipset, are you sure you're not missing out by not considering cheaper B850 boards? They might have everything you need for less.
I just want the best features possible for my board, and the X870E options seem to fit that while keeping in my budget.
Are you looking to switch from a DDR4 to a DDR5 motherboard? I haven’t followed the market much but heard DDR5 prices are pretty steep right now.
True, DDR4 isn't cheap either. But yeah, I'm building a whole new AM5 system, which includes some pricey RAM at the moment. I'm hoping prices might drop by the time I'm ready to order.
Yeah, unfortunately, it seems like it'll cost a pretty penny for DDR5. Fingers crossed it comes down a bit before I buy!

That’s exactly what I was worried about with Asrock. If you’ve had issues, I think I’ll avoid them too. Appreciate the heads-up!
