Best Option for Upgrading My RAM to 32GB

I'm looking to upgrade my RAM from 16GB of 2666MHz DDR4 to 32GB but want to stick with DDR4 since DDR5 isn't an option for me right now. Here are the options I've considered:

(a) Buy a new 32GB DDR4 3200MHz kit, but it's pretty pricey.
(b) Go for a 16GB DDR4 3200MHz kit now and maybe buy another later to hit 32GB.
(c) Just add another 16GB of 2666MHz RAM to what I have.

While I could choose option (a), the cost doesn't seem justified compared to the performance gains. Option (b) seems smart for future-proofing, but prices are unpredictable right now. Option (c) feels underwhelming but might be the only affordable choice given the current market conditions in the Philippines. Also, buying secondhand isn't a feasible option due to shortages.

I do care about speed, but my primary focus is the upgrade itself since I work in game development, media production, and gaming. I'm curious about the noticeable differences in performance between 2666MHz and 3200MHz. If the benefits are significant enough, I might consider switching to the faster RAM. Would love to hear your thoughts!

Going with just 16GB will definitely impact your gaming and productivity. If it's only temporary, you might be fine, but I recommend considering your needs. If you can manage with a 16GB stick for a while, go for it!

Plus, jumping from 2666MHz to 3200MHz can give you a performance boost and a slight increase in FPS in certain games.

I would just stick with another 16GB of 2666MHz. After that, you can sell it as a pack later on and go for the faster RAM when prices drop.

Yeah, matching what you already have is probably the simplest solution! Just double-check your motherboard’s compatibility with all those sticks.

For your projects, prioritizing 32GB over speed might serve you better. Adding another 16GB of 2666MHz will noticeably enhance your experience in game development and media production. The speed increase to 3200MHz is nice, but it won't change everything dramatically, so don't worry too much about that if the costs are high.

What are you considering too expensive? I often see prices fluctuate, and sometimes there are decent deals, but they vanish quickly. Also, I'm not seeing a massive price difference between 2666MHz and 3200MHz lately.
